On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to execute a VBScript file that performs floating-point operations in a Windows Server 2003 environment, VBScript throws a floating-point
exception. If you are executing an ASP page that uses VBScript, an exception may occur in the browser
that resembles the following exception: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0006'
Overflow CAUSEThis problem occurs because the C runtime _clearfp
function does not clear the Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) flags. Therefore, the
C runtime returns a stale floating-point status flag, and calls
to the _statusfp function incorrectly return error codes. When
a VBScript file calls the _statusfp function, you receive the script exception that is described
in the "Symptoms" section. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
