SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device, you run an image that supports the AYGShell API set catalog item. After you register multiple windows, you may experience one or more problems.

Problem 1

You use the SHChangeNotifyRegister function to register a list of windows to receive change notifications. However, when an event occurs that causes a change notification, only the last registered window receives the change notification. For example, this issue will occur when you create or delete a folder.

Problem 2

You call the SHChangeNotifyDeregister function to remove a window from the file notification chain. However, the removed window may still receive the change notification when certain events occur.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of an offset calculation fault.
