Cannot Unpup Customer Resource with Empty Varchar Fields

SYMPTOMS

When a packed custom table contains empty varchar fields, you cannot unpup a custom resource, and you receive the following error message in the Commerce Server Site Packager log file:
(E7C):Parameter object is improperly defined. Inconsistent or incomplete information was provided.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Commerce Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

Make sure that custom resource tables do not contain empty varchar fields when you pack the site.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 3.
