Description of Update Rollup 7 for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0 (HMC 4.0). This update is dated June 2011.

Update rollup information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must have Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 4.0 installed. Additionally, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group.

Note The HMC Deployment Tool must be installed on the first Microsoft Provisioning Server (MPS) Engine server.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update rollup. However, you have to restart some services during the installation.

Hotfix replacement information

This update replaces all the previously released updates.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Installation information

To install this update rollup, follow these steps:

1. Disable and shut down the provisioning engine on all MPS engine servers (MPS0n). To do this, follow these steps:
   1. On the MPS Engine servers, start Component Services.
   2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
   3. Click COM+ Applications.
   4. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Disable.
   5. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Shut Down.
2. Log on to the first MPS server (MPS01) as a member of the Domain Admins group.
3. On the MPS01 server, start the Deployment Tool to uninstall the following old components.
   1. Expand Core Platform.
   2. Expand Core MPF Install, right-click Managed Helpers, and then click Uninstall.
   3. Expand MPF Core Namespaces, right-click the following components, and then click Uninstall:
      • DNS Provider
      • Managed Active Directory
      • SMTP Mail Provider
   4. Expand Hosted Active Directory.
   5. Right-click Hosted Active Directory, and then click Uninstall.
   6. Expand Hosted Exchange, and then expand Exchange Provisioning.
   7. Right-click the following components, and then click Uninstall:
      • Exchange 2007 Hosted Email
      • Exchange 2007 Hosted Unified Messaging

7. Click Start Deployment.
8. In the Deployment Tool, expand Hosted Exchange, expand Exchange Provisioning Configuration, right-click the following nodes, and then run the Initialize command:

9. In the Deployment Tool, expand Hosting Platform, expand Initialize Default Services, right-click the following nodes, and then run the Initialize command:
   • Managed Plans Database
   • Active Directory for Hosting
   • Namespace Security
10. In the Deployment Tool, expand Sharepoint Service Hosting, right-click the following nodes, and then run the Initialize command:
    • Hosted SharePoint 2007
    • Managed SharePoint 2007

11. 1. Restart the Provisioning Engine. To do this, follow these steps:
    2. On the MPS Engine servers, start Component Services.
    3. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
    4. Click COM+ Applications.
    5. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Shut Down.
    6. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Start.
12. Click Start Deployment.
13. Run the EmailPermissionMigration.msi file on any server on the Platform, while logged on as a Domain Administrator. Accept all the default settings. Locate the Program Files\Microsoft Hosting\Provisioning\EmailPermissionMigration.exe file, and run it.
14. Run the UpdateMobilePolicy.msi file on any server on the Platform, while logged on as a Domain Administrator. Accept all the default settings. Locate the Program Files\Microsoft Hosting\Provisioning\UpdateMobilePolicy\UpdateMobilePolicies.exe file, and run it as below:

    UpdateMobilePolicies /log <filename>

    Note<filename> is the name of a file to capture any events logged by the utility.
15. Log on to DNS01 by using a domain administrator account.
16. Copy the DNSClient.msi file from the update package and run it two times. This action removes the previously installed version of the DNS Client and installs a new version. To install the DNSClient.msi component, follow the instructions in the "Deploy the MPS DNS Client" section of the HMC 4.0 deployment guide. 17. Configure the DNS Web Client. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, right-click DNSProvider, select Properties, and then select Directory Security.
    2. Under Authentication and Access Control, click Edit.
    3. Set the default domain value for the basic authentication setting to '\' (backslash). Click OK.
    4. Select Require security channel (SSL).
    5. Save the configuration changes, and close IIS Manager.
    6. Restart IIS.
18. Execute the file KB939216.msi on each MPS engine server (MPS0x).
19. Execute the file PlanManagerDBConcurrencyRollup1.msi on MPS01.
20. Update the HMOABUpdate program by running Hmoabupdate.msi to uninstall the program, and then follow the steps from DWHE.106 to DWHE.112 in Install the OAB Update Batch Application

21. On all front-end SharePoint servers (COLLAB0n), uninstall the old version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Copy the new version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file from MPS01 to COLLAB0n.
    2. Run the new version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file.
    3. Restart IIS on all SharePoint servers.

22. On the MPSSQL server that has the resource manager database, install the ResourceManageDatabase.msi component. When you run the ResourceManageDatabase.msi component, the following actions are performed.
    1. The following index is added to the [rmcore_Candidates] table:
       
       rmcore_candidates_ix_target_set_object_category_object_id_trans_id
    2. The following stored procedures that perform read-only operations on the ResourceManager database are added:
       • SeleteAndAssembleAllocateOrgMailStores
       • SeleteAndAssembleReallocateOrgMailStores
    3. The following user-defined functions that perform read-only operations on the resource manager database are added:
       • fn_min (scalar valued)
       • fn_ResourceCapacityOnAllocatedMailStores (table-valued)
       • fn_ResourceCapacityOnUnallocatedMailStores (table-valued)
23. Install the Out of Office (OOF) agent.
    
    Follow the instructions in the “Install and Configure the OOF agent" section in the HMC 4.5 RTM deployment guide to install, and then configure the Out of Office (OOF) agent that includes the following utilities:
    • Categorizer Override Agent
    • SMTP Domain Cache Task

    Note To support multi-tenant capable of the Out of Office functionality for tenants in different organizations within the same domain, you must install the OOF agent on all Exchange Hub Transport servers. The Microsoft Exchange Transport service must be restarted for the installation of Categorizer Override Agent.
24. Copy the PWDB40SSIS.MSI file to MOMSQL01 (or OMSQL01) and execute it to remove the existing package. Follow the steps from DWR.14 to DWR.16 in Create the Performance Warehouse Database
