This article was previously published under Q328867 SYMPTOMSIf you change the password to a domain by using any version of Microsoft Outlook on a workstation that is also running Exchange Instant Messenger, users may experience that they are locked out of their domain account and they can no longer access the resources in the domain. This lockout occurs after a period of time that is mandated by the Microsoft Windows 2000 Group Policy setting that governs the number of log on attempts. Note You may experience this symptom if you are running Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger with the Exchange Instant Messenger component. To resolve this problem, obtain and install the updated Instant Messaging client for Exchange 2000 Server.
