FIX: You can only view performance counters for 256 publishing points on a Windows Media Services 9 Series serverArticle ID: 934615 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to view performance counters on a Microsoft Windows Media Services 9 Series server that has more than 256 publishing points, Performance Monitor only lets you select from the first 256 publishing points in the Windows Media Publishing Point performance object. You cannot select any publishing points after the first 256 publishing points even if you want to view the performance counters of only one publishing point. CAUSEWindows Media Services only reports the statistics for 256 publishing points. RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the hotfix. MORE INFORMATIONThis hotfix raises the limit of the number of publishing points that report performance information to 1024 publishing points. This limit does not affect the number of publishing points that Windows Media Services supports for streaming. This limit only affects the way that the service reports performance figures.
