Volume Shadow Copy service is essentially a new framework that improves communication between applications, storage subsystems, and storage management applications (including backup applications). It helps to define, persist, and best use point-in-time copies of storage data for backup and restore, and other purposes. This WebCast also talks about the Provider APIs and System Provider. He is a program manager in the Windows Core File Services team primarily focused on the Volume Shadow Copy service, and he has been responsible for other storage technologies at Microsoft in the past. Before he joined the Windows Core File Services team, Paul worked in Microsoft Research in the area of performance analysis and optimizations. Paul is joined by Norbert Kusters, a 14-year veteran at Microsoft. Norbert is a developer in the Windows Core File Services team.
