The following error is logged in the Application log: Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event ID: 1000 Description: Faulting application gpresult.exe, version 5.2.3790.3959, faulting module gpresult.exe, version 5.2.3790.3959, fault address 0x000000000001323c. CauseThis problem may occur when the following Group Policy setting is enabled: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options Interactive Logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration Gpresult.exe reads this policy setting display name from the registry and clears the security cookie on the stack in the process. This later causes a failure on security cookie check causing the application to terminate and event ID 1000 to be logged in the Application log.
