SYMPTOMS

Some English text and some broken links to Help topics appear in the Help and Support Center after you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and one of the following Microsoft language interface packs:

Slovak Language Interface Pack for Windows XP, English
Slovenian Language Interface Pack for Windows XP

For example, when you click Start and then click Help and Support, English text appears, and you cannot access some of the content when you click the links.

Additionally, some Web pages are blocked, and you cannot access some of the content when you perform either of the following actions:

You start Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, click the Help menu, and then click Tip of the Day.
You view the Windows XP non-animated tour.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has provided an update to the Help system for customers who use Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and have installed the Slovak Language Interface Pack for Windows XP, English, or the Slovenian Language Interface Pack for Windows XP. To resolve this problem, install one of the following Cumulative Help Updates for each installed language that you have on your computer.

Windows XP Home Edition SP2

MUI documentation update

To view the MUI documentation update after the update is installed, follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Help and Support.
Under Pick a Help topic, click Protecting your PC: security basics.

How to remove this update

If you no longer want this update, you can remove it. To remove this update, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
In the Currently installed programs list, click MUI Help Package - SKY or click MUI Help Package - SLV, and then click Remove.
Click Next, and then click Finish.
