SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Office Outlook Time Zone Data Update Tool to update Outlook calendar items to adjust for daylight saving time changes in certain time zones, you experience the following symptoms:
  • Some appointment items are rebased incorrectly.
  • Some appointment items that require rebasing are not rebased.
You experience this problem when you update Outlook calendar items in the following time zones:
  • Central Brazilian Standard Time
  • E. South America Standard Time
  • Jerusalem Standard Time

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, manually modify Outlook calendar items if you use one of the time zones that are listed in the "Symptoms" section. To manually modify Outlook calendar items, follow these steps.

Note Before you follow these steps, we recommend that you print a copy of the calendar items that occur during the extended daylight saving time (DST) period. You can use this reference copy of the calendar items to verify that Outlook has been updated successfully.
  1. Start Outlook, and then open the Outlook calendar.
  2. Manually move each meeting that you organized so that they occur at the correct time.
  3. Send an update for each meeting that you moved to the meeting attendees. This action causes the calendar for each attendee to display the correct time for the meeting.
  4. Manually move each single-instance appointment.
  5. Manually move all recurring appointments that occur in the extended DST period.
Note If you created calendar items that will occur many months in the future, you may have to follow these steps for future extended DST periods.
