Custom annotations for an image in the Info panel in Expression Media are not displayed when you view the image in Photoshop

SYMPTOMS

Custom annotations for an image in the Info panel in Microsoft Expression Media are not displayed when you view the image in Adobe Photoshop. However, custom annotations are displayed in Photoshop when you use Microsoft Expression Media for Macintosh.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of an Info panel description file that is installed on Expression Media for Macintosh but not on Expression Media for Windows.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Download the MSKB948891English.exe file to a suitable location on the computer that is running Expression Media. To obtain the MSKB948891English.exe file, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/b/8/3b894866-18d9-44aa-8fe0-93e36e18a2a7/MSKB948891English.exe
  2. Double-click the MSKB948891English.exe file to uncompress the package.
  3. Copy the Expression Media.txt file to the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels
  4. Restart Photoshop.
  5. In Expression Media, follow these steps:
    1. Set up annotations for the image file.
    2. On the Action menu, click Sync Annotations.
    3. Click Export annotations to original files, and then click OK.
