You have documents in the Microsoft Office Open XML file format that use versioning and extensibility markup. For example, the documents are created in Word 2010 or Word for Mac 2011. When these documents are opened in 2007 Microsoft Office system applications, spaces are missing between some words in the document. After the document is saved, these spaces are removed permanently, even when the document is reopened in a newer version of Word. This update will help prevent Word 2007 from removing spaces when opening documents in this scenario. This issue may occur when you work with documents that are created in an application such as Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac.
