You must use the Proxy Server 2.0 Installation Wizard for Windows 2000 when you install Proxy Server 2.0 on a computer running Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server. NOTE: Proxy Server 2.0 can only be installed on Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server. It cannot be installed on Windows 2000 Professional. How to Upgrade a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server-Based Computer Running Proxy Server 2.0 to Windows 2000This is the recommended method for upgrading your server. Unless you have already upgraded your computer to Windows 2000, use the following steps. If you have already upgraded your computer to Windows 2000, refer to the "How to Reinstall Proxy Server 2.0 on a Windows 2000-Based Computer" section of this article.
In some cases, if you upgrade to Windows 2000 before you uninstall Proxy Server, the computer may stop responding (hang) at start.
