SYMPTOMS

Channel E4 does not show up in the guide as a viewable station.

CAUSE

Channel E4 used to be a pay channel. As such, it was excluded from Media Center. Since it was recently converted to a free channel, changes within Media Center must be made to allow users to view this channel.

  • Open Registry Editor by clicking Start, then Run and typing ?regedit? in the text input area and clicking OK.
  • In Registry Editor, navigate to the key: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\GLID.
  • Double-click on the ExclusionList value.
  • Remove the line ?E4? from the ?Value data? input text box, then click the OK button.
  • Start Media Center
  • From the Media Center Start Page, select Settings > TV > Set Up TV Signal
  • Reconfigure your TV signal by following the wizard steps.
  • From the Media Center Start Page, select Settings > TV > Guide > Edit Channels
  • Add E4 to your lineup by selecting the checkbox next to its name.
  • Save the changes.
