Microsoft Exchange Server version 4.0 has a feature called Circular
Logging. This feature prevents the continuous build up of Microsoft
Exchange database Transaction Log files on the hard drive. However,
differential and incremental backups cannot be performed if this feature is
enabled.
MORE INFORMATION
The Circular Logging feature is ENABLED by default when Microsoft Exchange
Server is installed. You can toggle this feature separately for the
Directory and the Information Store. This feature can be enabled or
disabled through the Properties page of the Server object or through the
registry. To enable or disable Circular Logging:
