Monitoring Server Activity

Monitoring server activity consists of viewing performance counters, viewing alerts, resetting alerts, viewing sessions, disconnecting sessions, and starting a service.

View Performance Counters

To view performance counters, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Performance Monitor.

View Alerts

To view alerts, point to Internet Security and Acceleration Server in the console tree of ISA Management, point to Servers and Arrays, point to Name, point to Monitoring, and then click Alerts.

Reset Alerts

  1. In the console tree of ISA Managementt, click Alerts.
  2. If you are in Taskpad view, on the View menu, click Taskpad to disable this view.
  3. In the Details pane, right-click the applicable alert, and then click Reset.

View Sessions

In the console tree of ISA Management, point to Internet Security and Acceleration Server, point to Servers and Arrays, point to Name, point to Monitoring, and then click Sessions.

Disconnect Sessions

  1. In the console tree of ISA Management, point to Internet Security and Acceleration Server, point to Servers and Arrays, point to Name, point to Monitoring, click Sessions, and then click Services.
  2. On the View menu, confirm that the Advanced check box is selected.
  3. In the Details pane, right-click the applicable session, and then click Stop.

Start a Service

  1. In the console tree of ISA Management, click Services.
  2. On the View menu, confirm that the Advanced check box is selected.
  3. In the Details pane, right-click the applicable service, and then click Start.
