On a computer that has a Creative Technology Audigy sound card installed, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen after you upgrade the computer from Microsoft Windows 2000 to Windows XP:
STOP: 0x1000008E (c0000005, f80ef98c, f02f3b94, 00000000)In EMUPIA2K.SYS "KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M" Arguments: Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled Arg2: f80ef98c, The address that the exception occurred at Arg3: f02f3b94, Trap Frame Arg4: 00000000 CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Windows 2000 device driver for the Audigy sound card is not compatible with Windows XP, and Windows XP does not include an updated device driver for the Audigy sound card.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, contact Creative Technology, Ltd. (Creative Labs) to obtain an updated audio device driver. Visit the following Creative Americas Web site:
