SUMMARY

The Microsoft .NET Compact Framework Technology Preview that is included with Microsoft Windows CE .NET requires you to use pre-release versions of both Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Smart Device Extensions. These versions were available as an MSDN subscriber download, however, the download is no longer available.

For more information and to evaluate the technology preview of Windows CE .NET, contact Microsoft Product Support Services:

Note Releases of the .NET Compact Framework that are mentioned on this site are later than the tech preview and will not have been tested on the current version of Windows CE .NET.

If you want to include the .NET Compact Framework in your own custom platforms, you must base your platform on a future update to Windows CE .NET. You must also include the final retail version of the .NET Compact Framework. As it becomes available, information about the update will be published on the following Microsoft Web site:

This product will be available to the retail market after approximately July 2002.
