You cannot log on to a Web site or complete an Internet transaction, or you receive an HTTP 500 (Internal Server Error) Web page
If you previously installed the hotfix that is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 329802, the symptoms that are described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base articles 329802 and 813951 may occur again after you install the MS03-004 February, 2003,Cumulative update for Internet Explorer (810847) . You cannot access your MSN e-mail account or authenticate with a Web site in various programs
When you open a Help file that uses the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), you may experience some of the following issues with links that worked earlier:
- Some links do not appear.
- Some links appear as a small box with a dot in the center.
- Some links may not locate the Help topic.

HTML Help update to limit functionality when it is invoked with the window.showHelp( ) method
When you open a Web page in Internet Explorer that calls the ShowModalDialog or ShowModelessDialog script methods by using the document.domain property, the Web page may not work correctly or you may receive a script error. Contact the administrator or content developer for the Web site to resolve this issue. HTML dialog window does not work correctly or you receive a script error message
This new behavior is by design. This behavior makes it impossible for an HTML e-mail message to open a new window automatically or to start downloading a program file.

Note By design, Internet Explorer supports frames. Therefore, text that is included in the NOFRAMES tag, element, or object of an HTML document does not appear if frames are turned off in the Restricted Sites zone. This may cause a frameset Web page in the Restricted Sites zone to appear as a blank page.
You may not be able to open some file types in Internet Explorer such as Rich Text Format(.rtf), Microsoft Excel comma-separated value(.csv), WinZIP(.zip), or Tagged Information File Format (.tiff) files.. Internet Explorer may prompt you with a File Download dialog box, and the Open button (Internet Explorer 6) or the Run this program from its current location option (Internet Explorer 5.x) may be unavailable. This behavior occurs if the content type that is specified in the headerthat is returned from the server does not match the file name that is specified in the Content-Disposition header. This problem was first corrected in Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1. Open button in dialog disabled when you browse or redirect to .rtf or .csv files
Cookies on ASP pages are blocked if the server name contains characters that are not supported by Domain Name System (DNS). For example, you cannot use underscore characters (_) in the server name. This behavior is by design.
The font in the fFind pane and in the oOrganize pane in Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2002 changes to Times New Roman, and the font size increases.
Microsoft FrontPage may not display Web pages correctly on the Preview tab. The page may appear correctly in ordinary view and by using the Preview command in the browser. This behavior may occur if you use cascading style sheets (CSS) with themes. This problem is fixed in Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and in the MSO2-047 August 22, 2002, cumulative update for Internet Explorer (323759) or later. If you use the MultiLanguage Menus and Dialogs package for Internet Explorer with a non-English locale, some menu or dialog box items in Internet Explorer may revert to English. For example, the items on a shortcut menu in the Document view in Internet Explorer may revert to English. You may receive the following error message if you click anSSL hyperlink on a Microsoft Excel worksheet or in a Microsoft Works document:

If you use a third-party proxy product that uses only basic authentication, you may no longer be able to connect to the Internet after you install Service Pack 1 for Windows XP or Internet Explorer 6. You cannot connect to the Internet after you install Microsoft updates
When you use Remote Assistance in the Windows XP Help and Support Center and invite someone to help you b, the invitation may not work and you may receive the following error message if you use Windows Messenger to contact the other party:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
The invitation could not be sent. Please try again.
This problem occurs after you install the MS03-004 February, 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (810847) (). To resolve this problem, install the MS03-015 April, 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (813489) or a later cumulative update.

Note This problem does not occur if you use Windows Messenger to prompt you for Remote Assistance instead of the Windows XP Help and Support Center.
After you remove MS03-015 April, 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (813489) , and then restart your computer, Windows Explorer may not load.. Therefore, you may have a blank desktop that does not display any icons or taskbars after you log on. This problem occurs if you follow these steps:
1. You install the Internet Explorer 5.01 SP3 version of Q813489.
2. You upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 SP1.
3. You install the Internet Explorer 6 SP1 version of Q813489.
4. You remove the Internet Explorer 6 SP1 version of Q813489.
To avoid this problem, remove Q813489 before you upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 SP1. To work around this problem, press CTRL+ALT+DEL, click Task Manager, and then reinstall the same version of Internet Explorer that you are currently running. Or you can install a later version of Internet Explorer from a local installation source.
After you install the MS03-015 April, 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (813489) , you may not be able to customize the "Outlook Today" page in Outlook 2000. You cannot connect to the Internet after you install Microsoft updates
After you install the MS03-004 February, 2003, cumulative patch for Internet Explorer (Q810847.exe) on a computer that is running Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1(SP1), Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express may quit unexpectedly. Additionally, you may receive an error message when you type an e-mail message or you use the Copy and Paste commands to paste text in an e-mail message. Internet Explorer or Outlook Express quits unexpectedly with an error in Mshtml.dll
Your computer may be slower after you install the MS03-013 security update (811493) package on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), or after you upgrade a Windows XP-based computer where the MS03-013 security update (811493) is already installed to Windows XP SP1. This problem is more likely to occur if you use some features of some third-party programs, such as antivirus programs. For example, this problem may occur if your antivirus program is configured to scan all files when you open them or run them. This process is sometimes namedreal-time scanning. You may experience performance issues after you install the 811493 (MS03-013) security update
After you install the MS03-014 April, 2003, cumulative update for Outlook Express (330994), Outlook Express uses your My Documents folder every time that you save an attachment from an e-mail or from a news message. To work around this problem, you must select the appropriate folder every time that you save an attachment. Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in MS03-014t he April, 2003, cumulative update for Outlook Express (330994).
You may receive the following error message when you try to remove a cumulative update for Internet Explorer such as in the the MS03-032 August 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (822925) :
There was an error in trying to uninstall the patch.
This problem may occur if you have the Baan Front Office Client installed. The Baan Front Office Client adds information to the Path string value in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\IEXPLORE.EXE
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry key:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\IEXPLORE.EXE
3. Right-click the Path string value, and then click Modify.
4. In the Value databox, remove the semicolon (;) and any text that appears after "Internet Explorer."
  
  For example, the Value databox should contain text that is similar to the following text:
  C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
  .
After you install the the MS03-032 August 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (822925) or the MS03-040 October, 2003 cumulative update for Internet Explorer (828750) , you may receive an "HTTP 404 - File not found" error message when you try to visit Web pages that are opened by JavaScript functions in frames or in windows.

After you apply MS04-004, credentials are cached for sites after the initial successful logons. Subsequent logons no longer prompt for credentials as they did before you applied the update. Instead, logons prompt for credentials only if the user logs off or the user's session is reset. This behavior should only affect kiosk mode environments because users in kiosk environments do not log on, and the credentials of the previous logon are cached until the session is reset.
