The Office Shortcut Bar is not available in Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003. However, you can use the Start menu in Microsoft Windows XP to start an Office program or to open a file or a folder. Additionally, you can use the Quick Launch bar in Windows XP or in Microsoft Windows 2000 to start an Office program or to open a file or a folder.
The following instructions are for the Windows XP Start menu style. If you are using the Windows Classic Start menu style or the Windows 2000 Start menu style, see Help in Windows.
Add an Office Program to the Start MenuTo add an Office program to the Start menu, follow these steps:
Add a File or a Folder to the Start MenuIn My Computer or in Windows Explorer, click the file or the folder that you want to add, and then drag it to the Start menu.

Show the Quick Launch BarTo show the Quick Launch bar, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your operating system.
Windows XPMethod 1
Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click Quick Launch.
Note If you right-click an empty area on the taskbar and do not see the Toolbars option, click to clear the Lock the Taskbar check box.
Windows 2000Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click Quick Launch.
Add an Office Program to the Quick Launch BarIn My Computer or in Windows Explorer, click the icon for the program that you want to add, and then drag it to the Quick Launch area on the taskbar. The Quick Launch area on the taskbar is located next to the Start button.

Use Earlier Version of Office with Office 2007 or Office 2003Office 2007 and Office 2003 can coexist with an earlier version of Office.
