New connection events that are produced by an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 are not recorded in the trace. These events are traced by using Sqltrace.exe in SQL Server 7.0, Profiler.exe in Microsoft SQL Server 2000, or system stored procedures that permit the creation and configuration of traces by using Transact-SQL commands. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
