Internet Explorer 5.5 support ended on December 31, 2005

Microsoft recommends upgrade to Internet Explorer 6

Support for Internet Explorer 5.5 officially expired on December 31, 2005. Microsoft has ended all support for Internet Explorer 5.5, including security updates.

According to the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy, we currently support these versions of Internet Explorer on the following operating systems:

  • Internet Explorer 5.01 on Windows 2000 SP4
  • Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2003 SP1
  • Internet Explorer 6 SP1 on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 SP1, Windows XP SP1, Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 SP4, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Millennium Edition
