Clarification on End of Support Dates for Digital Image Suite 2006, Digital Image Standard 2006, and other products

Microsoft is clarifying the support transition dates for Digital Image Suite 2006, Digital Image Standard 2006, Digital Image Starter Edition 2006, Digital Image Suite 10, Picture It! Express 10, and Picture It! Premium 10 because incorrect dates were published on the Microsoft Support Lifecycle Web site. Microsoft apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused customers.

Digital Image Suite 2006, Digital Image Standard 2006, Digital Image Starter Edition 2006, Digital Image Suite 10, Picture It! Express 10, and Picture It! Premium 10 will transition out of Mainstream Support to a non-supported status on January 13, 2009. After these dates, the products will no longer receive any public support, including security hotfixes. Online Self-help Support options, including Knowledge Base articles, will still be available.

These transition dates comply with the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy for annually released products, which states that Microsoft will provide three years of Mainstream Support for products that are released annually.

The Microsoft Support Lifecycle (MSL) policy provides transparent and predictable information about the support lifecycle of Microsoft products. More information is available on the following MSL Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle.
