The Microsoft Mediaroom team is pleased to announce the Microsoft Mediaroom 1.1 System Software Support Lifecycle policy. Microsoft’s Mediaroom 1.1 System Support Lifecycle policy provides consistent and predictable guidelines for product support availability at the time of product release and throughout a product’s lifecycle.
In this communication, we will explain the following:
General Support Lifecycle Policy: Microsoft Mediaroom 1.1 System Software
Microsoft is committed to providing its customers and partners with product support that maximizes their investments in Microsoft technology and delivers the most value to their business. This policy formalization for the Microsoft Mediaroom 1.1 System Software is a reflection of that commitment. Publishing support guidelines for the Mediaroom 1.1 System Software gives Microsoft Mediaroom customers and partners the opportunity to optimize their infrastructure and plan their product upgrades.
The Mediaroom 1.1 System Support Lifecycle Policy is based on the standard Microsoft Support Lifecycle (MSL) Mainstream Support phase. The Mainstream Support period for the Mediaroom 1.1 System begins at the General Availability (GA) of the system release and ends after 5 years or 2 years after the successor system release is provided (N+1), whichever is longer. Service Pack Support Lifecycle Policy
As per the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy for service packs, when a new service pack is released, Microsoft will provide either 12 or 24 months of support for the previous service pack, depending on the respective software release. Support timelines for service packs will remain consistent within the software release.
Microsoft will publish specific support timelines for a previous service packs when the new service pack is released. When support for a software release ends, support of the service packs for that software release will also end. The software release’s support lifecycle supersedes the service pack support policy.
Note: Mainstream Support and Extended Support (if applicable) for any software release is ONLY provided at the supported service pack level.

Note: For Mediaroom Client Software and Mediaroom Server Software Cumulative Patches (CP), the Clients and CPs will follow the same policy as the Service Packs.

Software Reaching End of Support in Next 24 Months:
Custom Support Offering for Microsoft Mediaroom Server 1.1
A Microsoft Mediaroom Server 1.1 Custom Support program offering will be available for purchase by Operators who have not been able to complete their migration to Microsoft Mediaroom 2.0 Server and need additional support from Microsoft. The Custom Support program will provide an additional year of support for Mediaroom 1.1 Server after the Mainstream Support EOS occurring on January 8, 2013, specifically for those customers that will not be able to migrate completely to Mediaroom Server 2.0 and for those customers requiring support for the Mediaroom 1.1 Server platform after January 8, 2013. The twelve (12) months of Custom Support for Mediaroom 1.1 Server ends January 14, 2014. Mediaroom Operators interested in this program should contact their TAM or Account Manager for further details.
Expired Microsoft Mediaroom 1.1 System Software
The following software releases are no longer available and support has been retired:
*Following the release of Data Warehouse 2.0 for use on Mediaroom Server 1.1SP3.2, the Data Warehouse 3.2 feature set is no longer supported.
Note: The Microsoft Mediaroom 2.0 System Software Lifecycle Policy is intended to be released following General Availability of the Mediaroom 2.0 System Software.
