Support ending for SQL Server Migration Assistant v4.2 Tools
Microsoft would like to inform customers that support for SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) v4.2 Tools (including SSMA Extension Packs) will end on July 15th 2012.
Customers need to safeguard their investment in their IT infrastructures and have come to expect consistency and predictability from Microsoft Support Lifecycle policies.
A "Tool" is defined as a utility or feature that aids in accomplishing a discrete task or a limited set of tasks. Major Tool versions receive a minimum of 12 months notification prior to the end of support. Otherwise, support ends contemporaneously with the product versions for which they are intended (for example, Microsoft Windows).
Note: Some Tools may receive security updates or feature enhancements. Customers may be required to install the latest update of the supported Tool’s major version to receive support.
The following are the releases in the SSMA v4.2 family of products for which this end of support notice is applicable:
Please note that Microsoft will continue to support these product versions through July 15th 2012.
