Summary

This update adds an access code in the meeting invitation template in Microsoft Skype for Business 2016. You can input the conference ID by clicking the PSTN number that's inside an email message or a calendar invitation to join the meeting.

Note The feature is disabled by default. You can turn on the feature by creating a new OneTapJoinForPSTNCallingOnMobile Group Policy Object (GPO), and then set its value to 1. The registry type of the GPO setting is DWORD. The setting is located in the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\AddinPreference

Here are the detailed steps about how to turn on the feature by creating the new GPO:

Important

Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.

  1. Exit all Microsoft Office applications.

  2. Start Registry Editor:

    • In Windows 10, go to Start, enter regedit in the Search Windows box, and then select regedit.exe in the search results.

    • In Windows 7, click Start, type regedit in the Search programs and files text box, and then click regedit.exe in the search results.

    • In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, move your mouse to the upper-right corner, click Search, type regedit in the search text box, and then click regedit.exe in the search results.

  3. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\AddinPreference

  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

  5. Type OneTapJoinForPSTNCallingOnMobile, and then press Enter.

  6. In the Details pane, right-click OneTapJoinForPSTNCallingOnMobile, and then click Modify.

  7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  8. Exit Registry Editor.
