CALC.EXE Display Error in Floating Point Number Calculation

SYMPTOMS

The Windows NT Calculator application (CALC.EXE) has a display error in its floating point number calculation.

NOTE: This display error is not related to the Pentium processor floating point division hardware.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has updated CALC.EXE to resolve this problem. The new Calculator application works on all Microsoft Windows NT versions and on all hardware platforms supported by Windows NT.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1 and Windows NT Workstation and Windows NT Server version 3.5. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.5.
