In Windows version 3.1, the Mixer Manager Application Programming Interface
(API) and Mixer Manager Service Provider Interface (SPI) are provided by
the Windows Sound System Version 2.0 Driver Development Kit (DDK). The
Windows Sound System Version 2.0 DDK supports 16-bit application and driver
development for digital audio mixers.
Starting with Windows NT version 3.5, the Mixer Manager API has been incorporated into the Win32 SDK, and the Mixer Manager SPI has been incorporated into the Win32 DDK. As a result, there is no 32-bit version of the Windows Sound System Version 2.0 DDK; all of its functions have been incorporated into the Win32 SDK and DDK. | Article Translations
