If you re-enable a disabled CMD PCI controller in Device Manager and click
OK when you are prompted "Do you want to restart your computer now," the
computer beeps repeatedly and stops responding (hangs). Or, the computer
may restart normally but the CMD PCI controller may remain disabled in
Device Manager.
CAUSE
Windows 95 does not support dynamic disabling and re-enabling of PCI IDE
controllers.
RESOLUTION
To re-enable the CMD PCI controller, use either of the following methods:
Method 1Reinstall Windows 95. To do so, run Setup from the command prompt.Method 2
