Copperplate Gothic Bold Font Disappears in WordPad

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Copperplate Gothic Bold font or the Copperplate Gothic Light font (set to bold) in WordPad, the characters on the screen may seem to fade from left to right as you type until the characters disappear.

CAUSE

This problem occurs only when you are using the Copperplate Gothic Bold or Copperplate Gothic Light font in WordPad.

RESOLUTION

This problem affects only the way the fonts are displayed on the screen. To refresh the display and make the fonts visible, minimize and then maximize the WordPad window.

Note that this problem does not affect your ability to save or print the document. The problem is limited to the way the fonts are displayed in WordPad.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the WordPad tool included with Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
