When you view a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document in a Web browser and click a hyperlink that
references a PowerPoint Presentation, the presentation does not open. NOTE: PowerPoint 97 presentations always open up in Slide show mode, when you open them in a Web browser. To edit the presentation in a Web browser, point to Edit, and then click Edit Slides. CAUSE
This behavior only occurs when the Browse in same window check box for
the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations file type is not selected in Microsoft Windows Explorer.
RESOLUTION
Select the Browse in same window check box. To do this in Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows NT 4, follow these steps. NOTE: In Windows NT 4, you must have the Windows Desktop Update installed for the Browse in same window check box to be available.
