Money: What is a proxy server and how can Money use one?
This article was previously published under Q156049 SUMMARY This article describes proxy servers,
how Microsoft Money can use proxy servers, and how to troubleshoot connection problems with proxy servers. MORE INFORMATION A proxy server is a way to connect to the Internet through
a local area network (LAN) without having to make a direct connection.
Generally, businesses use proxy servers as a security barrier (firewall) between
the Internet and the internal network of the business. Money can use proxy access to the Internet when it is using Internet Quotes, or when it is connecting to an online service with an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) bank or service provider. For problems connecting through a proxy server, contact your system administrator.
