PPT97: Format Painter Lost Trying To Apply Text Style to Shape

Article ID:157786
Last Review:November 9, 2000
Revision:1.0
This article was previously published under Q157786

SYMPTOMS

If you select some text, click the Format Painter tool and then click a drawing object that has no text, your pointer changes to a Move pointer (four-headed arrow). This behavior is different from PowerPoint for Windows 95, version 7.0, which displays a paintbrush pointer until you click an object that contains text or until you click an unoccupied part of your slide.

CAUSE

This behavior is a design change in the enhanced drawing abilities in PowerPoint 97.

APPLIES TO
Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Standard Edition
