SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Personal Web Server version 1.0 for Windows 95 in Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2) from an online service (such as the Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ (http://www.microsoft.com/ie/) Web site) and then uninstall it, Personal Web Server no longer appears in the list of network services when you attempt to add a network service. Therefore, you can no longer install the version of Personal Web Server included with OSR2.

RESOLUTION

To install the version of Personal Web Server included with OSR2, you need to reinstall OSR2 into the same folder in which it is currently installed.

For additional information on reinstalling OSR2, refer to your manufacturer supplied documentation.

After you reinstall OSR2, Personal Web Server should appear in the list of network services when you attempt to add a network service.

NOTE: You can also install the version of Personal Web Server available on online services by reinstalling Personal Web Server from the online source from which you originally installed it.
