OFF97: Menu Font Is Unreadable

In any of the Microsoft Office 97 programs listed at the beginning of this article, the font that is used for the menu may appear to be too small or scrambled, making the text on the menu unreadable.

To work around this problem, use the following steps:

1. Save your work and quit any running Microsoft Office 97 programs.
2. On the Start menu, point to Settings and click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Display.
4. Click the Appearance tab.
5. In the Item list, click Menu.
6. Using the Font arrow, increase the font size. (For example, if the font size is 8, change it to 10.)
7. Click OK.

Open any of the Microsoft Office 97 programs to view the menus.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
