How to back up or restore MSN Money Portfolio data

This article describes how to back up or save a copy of your MSN Money Portfolio data.

To back up your MSN Deluxe Portfolio data, follow these steps.

Note The Deluxe version of MSN Money Investing requires Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition or a later version and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 or a later version.

To back up your portfolio, follow these steps:

1. Open Portfolio Manager.
2. In the Other Tasks section, click More, click File options, and then click Backup.
3. In the File Name box, type the name that you want.
4. In the Save In box, click the folder where you want to save the file, and then click Save.

To restore a backup of your portfolio, follow these steps:

1. Open Portfolio Manager.
2. In the Other Tasks section, click More, click File options, and then click Restore backup.
3. Find the backup that you want to restore, and then click Next.
4. Follow the directions that appear on the screen to complete the Restore.

Note If you use the Basic version of MSN Money Portfolio, your data file is stored on a data center server at MSN Money.
