SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to edit the path of an installed browser in the Path box in the Edit Browser dialog box, you are limited to 50 characters.

NOTE: To locate the Edit Browser dialog box, on the File menu, click Web Page Preview, and then click Browse.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem and circumvent the 50-character limitation, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Web Page Preview.
  2. Click Browse.
  3. In the Edit Browser dialog box, select the browser you want to use, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you edit the path for an installed Web browser, a new, identical entry appears in the Browser list in the Web Page Preview dialog box the first time you open this dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
