SUMMARY

Money allows you to include bank names and account numbers in the Account Details report. However, you do not have the option of including one or the other. Because the selection is titled Bank Information, you can choose to have both bank names and account numbers printed on the report, or you can choose to leave this information off the report entirely.

MORE INFORMATION

There are two workarounds to have the report show just bank names or just account numbers. Rename the account so the account name includes the bank name or account number, and then customize the report to give you the desired information. Or remove the bank name or the account number in the Account Details area of the account.

Workaround 1

This workaround has two parts, first you will rename the account(s) and then customize the Account Details Report.

To rename account names, follow these steps:
1.Click Accounts on the navigation bar.
2.Right-click the account that you want to change the name of and on the shortcut menu, click Rename.

If you want the Details report to show just bank names, then add the bank name in parentheses after the account name.

If the account name is:
Checking
Add the bank name or account number:
Checking (Master Bank)
If you want the Details report to show you just account numbers, then add the account number in parentheses after the account name.

If the account name is
Checking
add the bank name or account number to it.
Checking (123456)
3.Press ENTER when you are done.
To customize the Account Details report to show bank names, follow these steps:

NOTE: These steps assume that you already have changed the account name to include the bank name.
1.Click Reports on the navigation bar.
2.In the left pane, click What I Have. Click the Account Details report, and then click Go To Report/Chart.
3.In the report, click Customize.
4.Click to clear the Bank Information check box.
5.Click Apply, and then click OK (in Microsoft Money 99 and later) or click View (in Microsoft Money 98).
The Account Details report should now show the account name and only the bank name.

To Customize the Account Details Report to Show Account Numbers:

These steps assume that you have changed the account name to include the Account number as explained in the steps for "To Rename Account Names."
1.Click Reports on the navigation bar.
2.In the left pane, click What I Have. Click the Account Details report, and then click Go To Report/Chart.
3.In the report, click Customize.
4.Click to clear the Bank Information check box.
5.Click Apply, and then click OK (in Money 99 and later) or click View (in Money 98).
The Account Details report should now show the account name and only the Account number.

Workaround 2

To remove either the bank name or the account details, follow these steps:
1.Click Accounts on the navigation bar.
2.Right-click the account, and then click Go To Details on the shortcut menu.
3.In the Account Details area, delete the Bank Name or the Account Number, depending on which field you want to appear in the report. Only delete the field you do not want to appear on the report.

NOTE: This will permanently erase the information. The only benefit is that your report will not include that information.

To delete the data in the Bank Name field, click to select the name, then press DELETE.

To delete the data in the Account Number field, click to select the number, then press DELETE.
4.Click Reports on the navigation bar.
5.In the left pane, click What I Have. Click the Account Details report, and then click Go To Report/Chart.
6.Click Customize, and then click to select the Bank Information check box.
7.Click Apply, and then click OK (in Money 99 and later) or click View (in Money 98).
The new Account Details report will consist of a Bank Name column and an Account Number column, even though one of them is empty. This is a limitation of Money.
