XL97: WordArt Object Displayed Differently in Excel 97

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Excel workbook that contains a WordArt object, the contents of the WordArt object may be spaced differently than in earlier versions of Excel. When you print the worksheet, the contents of the WordArt object may be printed differently than in earlier versions of Excel. In particular, the characters spacing may be different.

CAUSE

This problem may occur because Excel 97 uses a different process for drawing objects. This process may cause objects that are created in the earlier versions of Excel to be resized.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, obtain Microsoft Excel 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).
