SUMMARY

Microsoft Outlook 97 and Microsoft Outlook Express are different programs with different capabilities, although both can send to and receive e-mail from the Internet. You cannot synchronize the information stored in the two programs; that is, if you have an address stored in the Address Book in Outlook Express, that address is not automatically available in the Personal Address Book in Outlook. This article explains how to export addresses from Outlook Express into the Outlook Personal Address Book.

MORE INFORMATION

To export addresses from Outlook Express, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, point to Export, then click Address Book.
  2. Click "Microsoft Exchange Address Book," then click Export.

NOTE: If Outlook is not open, select the Profile that contains the Personal Address Book you want to receive the data, and then click OK.
  3. After the message "Address book export has completed successfully" displays, click OK, and then click Close.
The addresses will now appear in the Personal Address Book in Outlook.
