Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it

SYMPTOMS
When you click Search on the Internet Explorer toolbar, the Choose
Provider box or Choose A Search Engine command may be missing.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you are using a customized version of Internet
Explorer that has been configured to use a specific search provider.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry
