To return to the earlier version of Money, you may have to reinstall the earlier version of the Money program onto your computer if you installed the later version of Money in the same folder as the earlier version. After the earlier version of Money is installed, restore a version of your data file that is compatible with the earlier version of Money. To do this, use one of the following methods:

Restore from the backup file that was automatically made before file conversionWhen you open your existing Money data file after you convert your data file to a newer version of Money, the program automatically makes a backup of the file in its original format before converting it. The backup file is created in the same folder where the data file resides. This backup file has the same name as the file that is being converted, but it has a different file name extension. Because this backup file is a copy of your data file as it existed immediately before conversion, it may be more up to date than your personally created backup files. If you did not make a backup file under the earlier version of Money, you can use the file that was automatically created. For your version of Money to read this backup file, you must rename the file so that it has the .mny file name extension.
