When you select Sentence Case in the Change Case dialog box, the case of the sentence remains the same. (To locate the Change Case dialog box, click Change Case on the Format Menu.)

This behavior occurs when either of the following conditions is true:

  • The text is formatted for toggle case when you choose Sentence Case. -or-

  • The selected text contains a mixture of words in uppercase and other cases.

To change toggle case to sentence case, first change the text to lowercase, then change the case to sentence case.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
