SYMPTOMS
When you use Device Manager to view the input/output (I/O) addresses of
devices in your computer, some I/O addresses may be used by Alias Of
<device>, where <device> is the name of a device that is currently in your
computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your computer contains unused I/O addresses.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
In Microsoft Windows 95, all unused I/O addresses are assigned to In Use
By Unknown Device. In Windows 98, all unused I/O addresses are assigned to
aliases of devices that are currently in your computer. I/O addresses that
are assigned to a device alias can be used by new devices you add to your
computer.
