SUMMARY

When a user receives e-mail in plain text format, the font may be difficult to read. This article describes how to set your fonts in Microsoft Outlook 98 for reading and replying regardless what font was used to create the original message.

Depending upon factors, such as font color, size, typeface, and screen resolution, you may not be able to read the message easily. You can change the default font for reading mail by changing the Mail Format options.

Change the Message Fonts Default

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
  2. Under Stationery and Fonts, click Fonts.
  3. Click Choose Font to select the font to use for new messages, replying, or reading plain text.
  4. Click to select the Font, Font Style, Size, and Effects. Click OK.
  5. Under Stationery Fonts, click to select Always Use My Fonts. Click OK, Apply, and then OK to apply the changes.
