SYMPTOMS

Installing Microsoft Outlook 98, Internet Mail Only (IMO), replaces Microsoft Fax with WinFax Starter Edition from Symantec.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

RESOLUTION

To restore Microsoft Fax functionality you must:

Uninstall Outlook 98. -or-
Install the Corporate or Workgroup support of Outlook 98.

MORE INFORMATION

If you were previously using Microsoft Fax, installing Outlook 98 with Internet Mail Only support automatically installs the WinFax Starter Edition from Symantec.
