PRB: SVS Can Not Run on Other Node After Node Rebuilt

SYMPTOMS

If a node of the cluster is reinstalled for any reason and then rejoins the cluster, a Symmetric Virtual Server (SVS) can not fail over to that node.

CAUSE

When the SVS is installed by using the SQL Cluster Wizard, several support files are copied to both nodes of the cluster. Without these files, the SVS can not run.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, uninstall the SVS by running the SQL Cluster Wizard, choosing Remove, and then running the SQL Cluster Wizard again to reinstall the SVS.
