In questo articolo viene fornito un esempio che descrive come raccogliere informazioni da un utente in una pagina HTM, quindi utilizzare tali informazioni per inviare un messaggio di posta elettronica a un destinatario con Collaboration Data Objects per Windows NT Server (CDONTS) tramite SMTP. L'articolo include codice di esempio per i file HTM e ASP, oltre a informazioni su come configurare il server SMTP predefinito di Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Di seguito � riportata la sintassi per l'invio di un messaggio di posta con l'oggetto NewMail di CDONTS:

   objNewMail.Send([From][, To][, Subject][, Body][, Importance] )

   objNewMail
      Required. This NewMail object.

   From
      Optional. String. The full messaging address to be identified as
      the sender (for example, someone@Microsoft.com)

   To
     Optional. String. A list of full messaging addresses of recipients.
     The individual recipient addresses are separated by semicolons.
     (for example, someone@Microsoft.com)

   Subject
      Optional. String. The subject line for the message.

   Body
      Optional. IStream object or String. The text of the message. Only
      C/C++ and Java programs can use an IStream object for the Body
      parameter. They should pass an IUnknown object that returns an
      IStream interface in response to QueryInterface. Microsoft Visual
      Basic supports the IDispatch interface and not IUnknown, so it
      cannot use an IStream object.

   Importance
      Optional. Long. The importance associated with the message, High,
      Normal or Low.  This article sets the required value depending upon
      which option button the user selects.

NOTA: l'oggetto NewMail diventa non pi� valido dopo il completamento del metodo Send e non potr� essere riutilizzato per un altro messaggio. Per rilasciare la memoria, impostarlo su Nothing. Se si tenta di accedere a un oggetto NewMail inviato, verr� restituito CdoE_INVALID_OBJECT.

Procedura per la configurazione di Internet Information Server (IIS). Per inviare messaggi di posta dal server IIS tramite il server SMTP, presupponendo che si tratta di computer diversi, completare la seguente procedura:
1. Sul computer con IIS aprire Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
2. Nel riquadro sinistro espandere la sezione Internet Information Server.
3. Nel riquadro sinistro selezionare ed espandere il server IIS.
4. Nel riquadro destro fare clic con il pulsante destro del mouse su Default SMTP server, quindi scegliere Properties.
5. Fare clic sulla scheda Delivery.
6. Nella casella di testo Fully Qualified Domain Name immettere il nome del computer con IIS.
7. Nella casella di testo Smart Host immettere il nome del server SMTP.
Eseguire il file CDONTSMail.htm nel browser, immettere le informazioni richieste, quindi scegliere il pulsante Submit.

NOTA: il codice sopra indicato richiede l'immissione di un valore nei campi From e To.
