SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a PowerPoint presentation that was created with PowerPoint for the Macintosh, you may receive the following error:
PowerPoint cannot translate the file.

CAUSE

The Macintosh picture filter, Pictim32.dll, can only open EPS images saved in Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) version 3.0 format or later. The filter cannot open and translate images saved in EPS version 2.0 or earlier format. Because the format of EPS files varies you may not be able to open some presentations that contain EPS files.
