Accessing the Resource 'File:///<temp>/Tri<nnn>.htm' Has Been Disallowed

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print a Web page, you may receive the following error message

   Accessing the resource 'file:///<temp>/Tri<nnn>.htm' has been
   disallowed
				


where <temp> is the temporary folder defined in the Windows NT environment, and <nnn> is any number.

Note that this error message is more likely to occur if the "As laid out on the screen" option is selected under Print Frames in the Print dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are running Internet Explorer 4.01 on a Windows NT workstation on which the Run command has been disabled either by a system policy or by a custom Internet Explorer installation created with the Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK). \

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

Obtain and install Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2. You can obtain Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 from the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx)

Method 2

You can work around this issue by enabling the Run command on the Windows NT workstation. The Run command can be enabled by a system policy, a custom Internet Explorer installation created with the IEAK, or in the registry.
